What motivated you to plant your church in the city that you are in?
A clear and unique call from the Lord for JBay! I (Cjay) was born in JBay and I always knew I wanted to come back home, to do something specific in my town. In my bible school years, God started speaking to me about returning home to plant a church. Such a privilege to be in my home town and obviously to live in a place with the best wave!

What do you love about your church and community?
Wave Point is a vibrant community of people who love God and love people. In a coastal town that is growing, Wave Point accurately represents the demographics of our community!

What has been one of your greatest moments since planting your church?
Our greatest moment was seeing our church come together to serve our town during Covid 19 pandemic. Our church building became a food packing hub and for 10 weeks, every single day, we got to pack and distribute food to our town. What a blessing to love and serve our community, in such a time!

What has been one of the toughest moments you’ve experienced in ministry?
My wife and I knew beyond a shadow of a doubt that God was calling us to JBay. Unfortunately not everyone supported our dream and vision, and we had to charge on, despite being told otherwise by people close to us. It made the process of moving to a new place and a complete change in our lives, a little harder but Gods grace carried us through!

What is the biggest change you’ve seen in yourself or your church since planting?
We have grown more dependent on the Holy Spirit, and we don’t make any decision based on a feeling but rather what He is leading us to do.

What do you want to share with someone thinking about becoming a church planter?
Church planting is not “”just a cool thing to do””, it is hard work but such a privilege! Make sure you have a word from God to plant that church because when the tough times come you gonna need something to hold onto. God loves people and it was love that compelled Him to send Jesus so You have to love the people of your town or city, it’s what will drive you to fulfill the vision Gods placed in you. ||Lean into relationships, you cannot do this alone!

How has being a part of ARC impacted your life + ministry?
ARC has helped us articulate our strategy and vision. The relationships we’ve built are what helped us through some of the tough times and given us a family to celebrate the wins with.
